OBCIC's projects
Established in early 2010, Oasis Business CIC (OBCIC) is a not-for-profit social enterprise and a politically independent organisation, which seeks to better people's lives through a number of projects that we operate throughout the world.
OBCIC is currently developing three projects, two in Nigeria and one in the UK, that seek to harness the power and influence of business to positively impact people's lives.
The Media Lab Project - South London, UK
This offers a radical solution to two current and pressing issues in UK society: firstly, reducing levels of long-term unemployment among vulnerable groups, most notably NEET (young people), and secondly reducing landfill waste and increasing recycling.
Farm Development Programme
The project aims to build on the large agricultural potential of Ekiti state, Nigeria, in order to to benefit local, regional and national food requirements, and to produce sufficient surpluses for export.
Food Processing Programme
The project aims to introduce modern technology and management techniques to the food processing industry in the Ekiti state of Nigeria. This works hand-in-hand with OBCIC's other African project, the Food development programme, and aims to achieve high levels of efficiency and productivity in the processing of food products grown within the State. This will provide many local and regional benefits both to the economy and to the lives of its population.
